My Teaching Approach

I welcome students of all ages and experience levels—from complete beginners to advanced musicians. Every learning journey starts with a free introductory session, where we get to know each other, talk about your musical interests, your goals, and what inspires you to start learning.

I don't believe in a one-size-fits-all teaching method. Every student learns differently. Some enjoy reading notation, while others prefer learning by ear. Some want to play along with their favorite music, while others wish to reconnect with the rhythms of their cultural heritage or introduce their children to the music of their family's homeland.

My lessons are always adapted to the individual, making the learning process enjoyable, motivating, and personally meaningful rather than a fixed curriculum.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • You don't need any percussion instruments or professional equipment. Everything you need to complete the assignments is provided within the course. If you already own percussion instruments, you can use them to enhance your practice, but they are not required.

  • Every lesson includes professionally recorded video demonstrations and structured learning materials. After each lesson, you'll receive organized resources that help you practice effectively, review previous lessons, and continue progressing at your own pace.

  • This course is designed for everyone with a passion for rhythm.

    Whether you're a complete beginner, a hobbyist, or an experienced musician, you'll find a clear and structured learning path that matches your level. Beginners will build a strong foundation step by step, while more experienced students can deepen their technique, musical understanding, and overall performance.

  • You'll explore rhythm from both a practical and musical perspective. Throughout the course, you'll learn percussion techniques, rhythmic coordination, independence, and listening skills while developing confidence in your playing.

    You'll also discover how rhythm works within music, the role of the percussionist in an ensemble, why different rhythmic traditions exist around the world, and what makes Arabic, African, and Indian rhythmic systems unique. If you're interested, you'll also have the opportunity to learn music notation and the Indian rhythmic language (Konnakol).

    Above all, this course is about more than learning rhythms—it's about learning to listen, interact with other musicians, express yourself through rhythm, and truly enjoy making music.
